The Shawn Hilliard Foundation was created in honor of Shawn Hilliard, a proud son of South Boston whose life was deeply rooted in community, connection, and giving back.

Shawn was a lifelong member of the Boys & Girls Club, where he later also served on staff, continuing the tradition of support and mentorship that shaped his own life. He loved baseball, spending time with friends and family, and supporting the South Boston community. Throughout his life, Shawn gave back in countless ways, always showing up for the people and places that mattered to him.

Before his passing, Shawn made the decision to start this foundation in order to “give back.” He envisioned it as a way to continue supporting community-based programs and individuals, and to ensure that care, opportunity, and support would continue to reach those who need it most.

Today, the Shawn Hilliard Foundation is led by his children, wife, and lifelong friends, carrying forward his legacy and commitment to community. Through this work, we honor Shawn’s belief that strong communities are built through generosity, relationships, and showing up for one another.
